jkosnett@kiplinger.com

Jeffrey R. Kosnett is senior editor of Kiplinger's Personal Finance, specializing in investments and financial planning. He rejoined Kiplinger's in 2000 after six years as editor of Advisor Today, the world's largest life insurance magazine. Before that, Kosnett served 13 years with Kiplinger's, covering the economy, investments, and writing the magazine's flagship column, The Months Ahead (now Ahead, and ably authored by Melynda Dovel Wilcox). He has also been a newspaper reporter and business editor.

Kosnett is a recipient of various awards, including first place in the National Press Club's best consumer journalism, the John Hancock and Amos Tuck business writing awards, and various citations from the Society of National Association Publications. He is a frequent speaker and lecturer and television guest.

Kosnett graduated in 1976 from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and also completed a fellowship in management at the graduate school of business at Carnegie-Mellon University.

In his spare time, you'll find him fixing up an historic row house in Baltimore, riding his bicycle all over the Mid-Atlantic, or at the duplicate bridge table around Baltimore and Washington. He is a life master of the American Contract Bridge League.
