Jane Bennett Clark started her career as an investigator for the Better Government Association, a citizens' watchdog group in Chicago. She was a copy editor at the American Historical Association and the American Psychological
Association before joining the copy department at Kiplinger's Personal Finance in 1977.
Clark has contributed articles to Kiplinger's Personal Finance (then Changing Times) since 1981, on subjects including health, disability, spending, travel and financial planning. Her stories have also appeared in
The Washington Post, the New Orleans Times-Picayune and Washingtonian magazine. She has been a freelance editor and copy editor for numerous publications, including Kosmos magazine, Time-Life Books, Stackpole Books, National Journal and Preservation magazine.
Clark is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Northwestern University.
