Investment choices are limited to a new guaranteed option, an age-based portfolio and a single fixed portfolio (100% stocks). The guaranteed option has a minimum 3% return. Stock investments are conservative; thus the age-based portfolio has performed above average over the past year and about average over three years. (Three-year annualized returns in the age-based portfolio have ranged from -10.5% for toddlers to 3.3% for college-age students.) The stock portfolio has posted below-average returns. Costs are low, at no more than 0.81% per year.
